Fredrick Douglass said ‘’ it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men’’ The mess we see in our current generation can be attributed to adults who were not raised right. Our upbringing affects the quality of our life, health and informs our perception of issues. Am I saying that everyone who turns out to be a robber, drug addict, corrupt leader etc. had bad parents? Not necessarily. You can be a good parent practicing bad parenting. With the times changing quite fast, there is need to restructure and redefine parenting. On this quarterly issue, among so many other stories, we explore how to be better parents to children in this day and age. We look at where things went wrong and try to get solutions to fix some of these problems. If we are going to make things better for our boys and girls we have to pause and ask some difficult questions. Are we going to raise our children the same way we were raised? This is a conversation we must not be afraid to have.
