Сравнительная степень образуется с помощью суффикса -er
Превосходная степень образуется с помощью суффикса -est

Если прилагательное оканчивается на Y, то при образовании сравнительной и превосходной степени буква Y заменяется на букву i, а затем прибавляется соответствующий суффикс.

В написании удваивается конечная согласная буква, если прилагательное оканчивается на одну согласную с предшествующим кратким гласным звуком:

Сложные прилагательные образуют степень сравнения с помощью специальных слов:
сравнительная степень - more, превосходная степень - the most.
