В Мельбурне (Австралия) есть дом, который всегда говорит “Hello!”. То есть «Привет!». Это строение — пожалуй, самый общительный дом планеты. Всё благодаря говорящему фасаду.
There is a house in Melbourne (Australia) that always says “Hello!". That is, "Hello!". This building is perhaps the most sociable house on the planet. All thanks to the talking facade.

The idea to brick HELLO came to the mind of local artist Rose Nolan when she was engaged in the reconstruction and expansion of an old Victorian house. She developed and implemented this project not alone, but together with designers and architects from the local studio "OOF!".

Initially, this building was an ordinary Victorian house — with a courtyard and a standard modern interior. However, its owners decided that it could become something more tempting. Moreover, a cafe with good traffic was located opposite the building. 
The family of the artist Rosa Nolan understood that their house is "not just a living space, with its help they communicate with all the neighbors." HELLO does not merge with neighboring houses, it loudly declares itself and sets a shouting and at the same time friendly tone to the whole street.

The old outbuildings with an area of 40 sq.m were replaced with more comfortable rooms, their area increased to 63 sq.m. The extension with the inscription "Hello" allowed the architects to change the layout of residential premises

Of course, you can't build such a house just like that and you had to wait a long time for permission for such an atypical inscription. After all, there were two main types of architecture around: buildings of the XIX century and brick residential buildings of the 60s - 70s. 
In other words, the "talking house" did not fit into the current architectural heritage. Nevertheless, everything went well. 
Locals take guests to look at the house, and sometimes shouts of greeting can be heard even at night. "One of our neighbors even thanked us for such generosity," the architect shares.

From the backyard through the high windows, the open layout of the house with a dining and kitchen area is clearly visible.

With the help of curtains, you can divide the common space of the kitchen-living room into zones, turning
one of the parts into a cozy nook. On the open shelves, the owners of the house can put their favorite trinkets, and the brick wall behind them will emphasize their beauty.

Black metal pipes and white tiles give the bathroom a bright industrial sound. The abundance of white and mirrored cabinet doors visually increase the bathroom space.

Despite the rather large total area (about 180 sq.m.), there is not much space on the street. This parking space, hidden behind a roller gate, duplicates the main entrance to the house.
