In 1957, the Bashkir Reserve was restored, and in October 1958 its Pribel branch was established, which became an independent reserve "Shulgan-Tash" in 1986.Scientific and practical activities have always been focused on the preservation of the Burzyansk bee and the research of the Kapova Cave. Since 1995, the active development of the museum and excursion complex in the 51vb block of the Shulgan-Tash cave began. The total area of the reserve is 22,531 ha (225 sq. km)
