Hello, my name is Arsentiy. I am in year 5. I’d like to tell you about Novosibirsk.
There are a lot of cities in Russia. But most of all I like Novosibirsk. It’s a hometown of my parents. Every year I visit this city to see my relatives.

The population of the city is 1 600 000 people.
It’s the third largest city in our country and the largest city in Siberia. Novosibirsk is a young city. It was founded in 1893.

During the second World war it became an industrial centre in Soviet Union.
Now Novosibirsk is the cultural and educational centre in Siberia. It has an opera and ballet theatre, botanical gardens, an art-gallery and museums.
There are a lot of universities, institutes and scientific centers in Siberia

The climate of the city is rather severe, but it’s warmer than in Yakutsk.

It is located on the banks of the Ob river.
