Environmental pollution, which also refers to the natural environment and the biosphere, is an increased content of physical, chemical or biological reagents in it that are not typical for this environment, brought in from outside, the presence of which leads to negative consequences.

Air pollution
Vehicle exhaust gases are the main source of air pollution in the developed countries of the West. In Russia, the largest amount of harmful emissions is the merit of thermal power engineering (TPPs and boiler houses). The situation in them is the same as in Western megacities: the share of pollution by motor vehicles is 70-80% of the total amount of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

The influence of carbon dioxide
By itself, carbon dioxide is not harmful to the environment. On the contrary, it is one of the main elements of the life process of plants. They absorb CO2, recycle it and release oxygen into the atmosphere. But if carbon dioxide becomes too much, it begins to play the role of thermal insulation for the planet. The radiation of the Sun freely passes through the atmosphere, but the less thermal energy goes back into space, the more greenhouse gases there are in the gaseous shell of the Earth. The surface of the planet begins to warm up. The ice is melting, the climate and species composition of flora and fauna are changing.

Greenhouse effect
The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon that raises the temperature on our planet for a comfortable existence.How does it arise? Our planet receives solar radiation, which heats the surface. The radiation from the sun is short-wavelength, so the greenhouse gases that are around the Earth freely pass it. A tiny fraction of sunlight can be reflected back by aerosols that are found along with greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere.In turn, when the planet heats up, it gives off thermal radiation - infrared radiation (long waves). But since the radiation is long-wave, greenhouse gases prevent it from completely escaping into space.

Methods for cleaning industrial emissions into the atmospheric air
The main principles of using methods for cleaning industrial emissions are:
Prevention, which implies: a change in the technological process; the use of other raw materials containing fewer harmful components (for example, replacing standard reagents with safe options); change in the organization of labor and the introduction of environmental principles at all stages of production.
Secondary, implying the use of industrial installations for the purification of industrial gas emissions.
The implementation of the first principle is accompanied by high time and material costs. Obviously, it is more difficult to change production technology than to use an emission reduction device that is a by-product of the production process. But in the end, for a number of reasons, preventive solutions are more promising. As for the implementation of the second principle, it is precisely devoid of the shortcomings of the first, and is often the only possible one.
