Timati, or more precisely Yunusov Timurcheg Ildarovich, was born on the 15th of August , 1983 in Moscow. Creativity emerged in Timati in early childhood. His parents decided to send little Timati to a music school to learn to play the violin, where he studied for four years After school Timati entered the Moscow Higher School of Economics, but he didn’t study there for long, only six months. His parents worried much and sent their son to the United States of America to continue his education.

The son of wealthy parents, he followed in his father's footsteps and decided to devote himself to rap and R & B, abandoning his studies at the prestigious American university. Having learnt about his son’s preference, his father refused to help him in any way. Timati earned his living washing cars, then worked in the university canteen.
