My aim is to prove the importance of printed books existence.
I have to tackle the following problems:
1. To investigate the origin of a book.
2. To make a comparative case study of e –books and paper books.
3. To turn the searchlight of science on the problem that may pop up for publishers and even bookshops in the modern world.
4. Studying reading needs of young people (to conduct survey).
5. Forming public opinion in favor of reading.
6. To prove the importance of printed books existence.

The origin of a book
The book is linked to the desire of humans to create lasting records.
Papyrus books were in the form of a scroll of several sheets pasted together, for a total length of up to 10 meters or even more.

The invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg around 1440 marks the entry of the book into the industrial age.
The spreading of book printing all over Europe occurred relatively quickly, but most books were still printed in Latin.

“The sands are running out”. Printed books vs. E-Resources
It is difficult to predict the future of the book. A good deal of reference material, designed for direct access instead of sequential reading, as for example encyclopedias, exists less and less in for the form of books and increasingly on the web. Leisure reading materials are increasingly published in e-reader formats.

But will the book disappear?
I don't think so, and I certainly hope not! I don’t expect electronic books to replace bound paper versions in a hurry. “Anything that lasts 500 years is not easily improved upon,” “Books are so good you can’t out-book the book.”

What would be lost if we did not have the book?
But perhaps there is reason to hope that e-books and print books could have a bright future together, because for all the great things e-books accomplish — convenience, selection, portability, multimedia — there are still some fundamental qualities they will simply never possess:
Books have physical beauty.
Books have provenance.
Printed books are collectible.
Books are nostalgic.

For many teenagers of my school, according to the questionnaire, reading is too boring, too old-fashioned, too passive and too solitary. E-reading is more accessible than the printed page to many teenagers.

We all have to remember that:
READING IS TO THE MIND WHAT EXERCISE IS TO THE BODY

Printed books are for people who love printed books. Digital books are for those who love digital books. The choice between e-books and printed books is not a zero sum game. Print books do not have to disappear for e-books to flourish, and e-books don't have to be the only choice.
