Volunteering as a norm of life of Russian society.
Volunteering or volunteerism has deep roots and traditions in our country since early times. They aren’t based on mercy and social service. Nowadays volunteer initiatives received support from our government. Volunteer movement became large-scale and widespread. Volunteering became one of the forms of mutual assistance and the norm of life of modern Russian society.

Volunteering movement appeared in Russia after the adoption of Christianity in 988. The Prince Vladimir ordered to give food and money to poor people. The first hospitals and orphanages appeared in Russia also when the Prince Vladimir ruled. The workers in these orphanages worked there without any reward .And under the rule of Yaroslav Mudry the first schools appeared in which orphans were admitted. They were taught at the expense of donations which were gathered from the inhabitants of the nearest settlements and towns. In villages from the ancient times exited special rituals at help, which were called “pomochi” or “canoons”. People built houses for fire victims, plowed fields for neighbours who hadn’t horses, brought firewood without any reward for churches and hospitals. Volunteering was supported by many Russian tsars. Ivan the Terrible ordered to create almshouses for sick and homeless people. Peter the Great sent orphans to learn and to work to factories, and in 1721 the Emperor ordered to subtract from every rouble one copeck every year for charitable needs. Every person except ordinary people must pay this sum. The Impress Katherine 2 created the net of houses for orphans, foundlings, and illegitimate children.

Volunteering today.
Volunteering today is volunteerism, consciousness, gratuitousness, ethics, assistance and mutual assistance, solidarity, personal responsibility for result, discipline, culture of speech, culture of behavior. It`s a community of volunteers. Today we can say with confidence that it is more than 21 million community of people of all ages- schoolchildren, students, grown-ups and even pensioners. The International Volunteer Day is celebrated on the 5th of December.

Volunteers of to be kind
On the 6th of September 2023 on the day of solidarity of struggle with terrorism pupils took part in all-Russian action « A drop of life». This action is dedicated to events which took place in the firsts September days in 2004 in Beslan Norfh Ossetia. «A drop of life» calls for remembering all the victims of terrorism, died law enforcement officers, symbolically get drunk all those who is no longer with us.

On the eve of Defender`s Day students of our gymnasium and their parents , representatives of volunteer squad, activists of Russian movement «The movement of the first»joined the regional action and wrote letters to our defenders.

On the 26th of September as a part of the objects «Become a volunteer» the delegation of Proletarsky district took part in region event in Rostov on Don «Region school of mentors. School volunteering». As a part of this event young volunteers visited lectures directed to increasing the level of development of volunteering at schools of Rostov region.
On the eve of the Teacher’s Day the activists of he movement of the first from the Gymnasium №3 t.Proletarsk took part in the all-Russian action «Thank you».

BRAVE SMALL HEART
All Russian action of the «Movement of the first» - «Brave small heart» dedicated to the International Day of young hero- antifascist, became a reminder about the important mission of «The first!» It is a conservation of historic memory. The volunteer of this movement held an extra-curricular event `Beardless heroes`. Volunteers arranged the stand «Small heroes of a big war».

Conclusion

Volunteering movement is widely spread nowadays. It acquires the features of a universal social phenomenon. Conscious and unselfish work for the benefit of others is of great importance. So, get ready to any activity that is useful and you will make the life of people better.
