Big Ben – a ball tower in London, a part of an architectural complex of the Westminster palace. The official name – The Hour tower of the Westminster palace, also it name The Tower of St. Stefana.

There are two versions of the origin of the name. The first is that the bell was named Big Ben in honor of Sir Benjamin Hall. And second version- it was named Big Ben in honor of Benjamin County ( a popular boxer in the heavyweight division)

Big Ben weighs 13720 kilograms. Tower height 61 meter (without considering a spike)/ At diameter of a dial in 7 meters and length of arrows 2,7 and 4,2 meters, height of each figure only 61 centimeter.

At the base of each clock dial in gilt letters is the Latin inscription: «DOMINE SALVAM FAC REGINAM NOSTRAM VICTORIAM PRIMAM», which means «O Lord, keep safe our Queen Victoria the First».
