The Present Simple time denotes activities that occur regularly. It is used to denote ordinary, constant actions, for example: habits, daily routine, schedule.

For example:

I live in Russia.
Я живу в России.

The meeting starts at 6 o'clock.
Собрание начинается в шесть часов.

The English verb in the tense form Present Simple always coincides with its initial, in addition to the 3rd person singular, the ending –s must be added to the initial form

For example:
I work – he works
We learn– he learns

If the verb ends in -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o, the ending -es is added to it.
For example:

to buzz — he buzzes
to sketch — he sketches.

If the verb ends in -y with a preceding vowel, then -y is preserved and only the ending -s is added:
I play – she plays


Verbs on -y with an preceding consonant are also supplemented with the ending -es, and -y is replaced by -i:
I study – she studies
